After starting his career in Stade Rochelais, he signed a contract with Toulouse in 2002. He played for them for 8 seasons and won the French Championship in 2008 and three European Cups, in 2003, 2005 and 2010.

As an international French player from 2000 to 2008 with 35 selections under his belt, he is to this day the player-trained with the Stade Rochelais- who has been the most selected in the French National team. He won two Six Nations Championships, in 2004 (Grand Slam) and 2006, and was captain three times.

He ended his career as a player in 2010 and became the Stade Toulousain Fullbacks’ coach.
